A very fine old 4/4 master violin, labeled Hannibal Fagnola fecit Taurini anno Domini 1927. The instrument is in ready to play condition with tears, wears, repaired sound post crack on top plate, good old rosewood set up and old Dominant strings. The violin has an excellent straight high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of strongly flamed maple with matched ribs and scroll. Rich golden amber color varnish shows an amazing wooden choice. The whole length of the violin is 585 mm and the back 360 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 169 mm; middle bouts: 115 mm; lower bouts: 209 mm. Full size. The sound is very sweet, rich, powerful, suitable for soloist.
