Grade & Condition Notes. A Batch of Bright, Glossy & Solid Low to mid grade copies of these classic early Man-Thing stories in his first solo series 'Fear'. All books have very bright F/C's with excellent gloss & good eye appeal & nice deep rich inks & colours. Internally the pages range from off-white to Tan. Issue 10 is G (2.0) Would be much better but has a taped spine? No sign of the staples having come loose so blame Stan Lee who told comic collectors at the time to do this to preserve their comics!? It's fairly neatly done but sadly the tape has browned a little so on the back cover is clearly less eye appealing than the front, the rest of the issue has some handling wear but is relatively free from anything serious & would be a solid mid-grade copy without it. Issue 11 is G/VG (3.0) Solid & complete but has some creasing to covers & some water damage to the top part of the back cover with wrinkling in this area with some residual to the top area of pages inside & some light stains in the margins of back cover in a few areas, some minor oxidation to staples but all solidly attached throughout. Still decent enough eye appeal to f/c despite all this. Issue 13 is FN/VF (7.0) Would be a VF outright but has a small pea sized colour fleck in the marvel comics banner at the top edge, lovely all round book with very minor imperfections elsewhere. Issue 14 is VG/FN (5.0) Nice looking book overall but has top l/h corner tip bend back cover which effects the book in this area. Lighter knock to bottom l/h corner back cover. Front cover has small bottom r/h corner crease & arrival date stamp in title. Some foxing is present on back cover in margins. Issue 15 is FN (6.0) Lovely glossy eye appealing F/C with minor handling, a few spine stress lines, knocks to top & bottom corner tips of spine are the only flaws of real note with a little distribution ink splash at top of spine edge which bleeds a little on to top of back cover (see scan) & some bottom edge also. Issue 18 is FN- (5.5) Again another nice bright glossy copy with a little build up of general handling & stress at spine but nothing too serious, back cover has a 2/3 length vertical impression line by spine (no crease) a few light foxing spots but nothing again too bad, a generally decent looking all round issue. Overall a mixed bag of grades on these with a couple of lower grade copies mixed with some much better mid graders but all retain a decent overall look & my start price is way below the current guide value for these issues in the grade types which is around $70 but Please have a look at the photos & scans & try to make that estimation yourself if you can.
