Robert Whonnock Hawk Bowl Kwakiutl. Measures approx. 30" X 10" X 2 3/4". No significant chips or cracks, does have a rough edge or two commensurate with age. Just a wonderful hand carved feast bowl, very large and expertly crafted. Artist signed on back with Canadian Department of Indians label.

 A chance to own a piece of Northwest Coast history by renowned First Nations artist Robert Whonnock. He was from the village of Rivers Inlet on Vancouver Island and was trained to carve classically. Robert (Bob) Whonnock is a Kwakwaka’wakw (Kwakiutl) carver whose fine art is sold around the world. Very little is known of Whonnock’s personal life. Professionally ,he was one of three artists who created and carved the Coquitlam Centennial totem in 1967 at the Dogwood Pavilion Grounds in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada.
