Marks & Spencer has resurrected the St Michael logo after more than two decades. The move comes after young fans of vintage fashion started to snap up second-hand items from the brand online. Yesterday, the retailer said it was 'just starting to play with it and test reaction' to the products – although for now only a £29.50 rugby shirt and a sweatshirt for £25 carry the words St Michael. Second-hand pieces from the Sixties, Seventies and Eighties collection have become popular with fashion fans – with more than 14,000 St Michael items listed online. Some have even increased in value since they first appeared on the shelves of the store.
The brand originated in the 1920s and was the idea of Simon Marks, son of M&S co-founder Michael. It was a tribute to his father, who launched the business in 1884. Used until the turn of the Millennium, it was then ditched as part of a plan to revitalise the company's clothing ranges. Now the high street stalwart has brought the brand back in another revamp after several years of declining profits.
Yesterday, it launched a new campaign to showcase the collection. Richard Price, managing director of M&S clothing and home, said: 'We're reshaping the future with relevant product for how our customers live and work.'

These vintage Marks & Spencer flared jeans have been part of my collection for a while. They are a typical pair of denim from the mid ’70′s featuring stiff creased sta-prest denim. A true 1970′s tough denim. These jeans were made for walking with boots (or heels)...and that's just what they'll do!
