This beautiful Japanese lock box is decorated in lacquerware which has been hand-painted showing small birds and flora using gilding and a rich umber (softly glossy, deep, rich, smokey red) like lacquer.

Although it's not marked it's typical of the mid to late 19th Century.

The condition is pretty good, although there's some flaked lacquerware, here and there, which is typical of age, and there's no key, as shown.

It measures approximately 22.8cm wide x 16.6cm front to back x8.5cm high.

I can combine postage where possible, if sizes and weights apply favourably and there is no risk of damage to do so.
