Item Description

GUILD M-80CS '81 White

Since the creation of the first Guild brand electric guitar in the early 1950s, the brand has continued to produce numerous acoustic and electric guitars, and continues to be loved by guitarist artists around the world.

This time we have a 1981s solid body M-80CS. The M-80CS was released in 1975 as a double cutaway version of the M-75 Bluesbird, and in 1981 it was slightly changed to a double cutaway body with a maple top and mahogany back.

[Body]
The overall weight is approximately 4.4kg. The body material is maple top and mahogany back. The white color can be said to be a rare specification as it was not in the catalog at the time.
It is in a well-used condition, with deterioration of the painted surface, weather checks, scratches, and dullness of the metal parts, making it in good condition.
There are signs that another pickup was installed once, and there are signs that the front pickup counterbore has been widened accordingly.
The strap pin has been replaced with a flush mount style and moved to the neck joint side.
The pickup ring has been replaced, and the brand label on the back of the back panel is unfortunately missing.

[Neck]
Neck material is maple, fingerboard material is ebony. The familiar "Chesterfield inlay" shines on the head.
There are weather checks, scratches, and sticker marks around the serial number on the back of the neck.
The tuner is Schaller M6 style with the "Guild" logo.
There is not much variation in the winding condition and it functions well.
The nut has been replaced, and the frets seem to have been replaced once, but they have been adjusted and the playability is good.
The fingerboard radius is kept at around 7.5 to 9.5 inches.
Nut width 41.5mm.
It features a moderately thick neck shape.

[Electrical system]
The controls are [3way pickup selector coil tap switch 2 volume 2 tone].
The pickup has been replaced with the original "XR-7" in the front (neck) position (the base plate has been processed) and the Bill Lawrence "L-500L" in the rear (bridge) position.
POT, capacitor has been replaced.
The mini switch was originally for phase switching, but it has now been changed to a coil tap switch for the pickup, making it easy to use.
Features high power, warm and clear tone.
