Arai has given its popular Signet Series helmet a removable, fully-washable liner, several other upgrades, and a new name - the Signet GTR (the “R” for removable liner).

Along with the liner, the new Signet GTR has Arai’s new “Enhanced Organic” shape featured on the new top-of-the-line RX-7 Corsair designed for a more natural appearance that conforms more to the head’s natural shape for improved comfort and fit, to seal better, and to further minimize wind turbulence.

There’s a new bottom trim and non-removable neckroll, and a modified pull-down chin spoiler that helps increase the exhaust of hot breath from the face area to minimize shield fogging.

The GTR retains the Signet Series’ traditional LO Long Oval shell shape for riders whose heads are longer front to back than side to side, along with standard Arai features like virtually 100% handmade construction, hand-fit multiple-density comfort foam interiors for enhanced comfort and fit, and full 5-Year Limited Warranty an industry-leading Arai benefit for the last 10 years.

Snell Ratings

Before I purchased helmets for my own use, I did some research on the difference between the Snell M2000 and

M2020 standards.  There isn't a lot of difference.  You can check the specifications yourself at http://www.smf.org/

What's Included

Listing includes an Arai Signet GTR helmet in white (size large) with clear shield, Arai helmet bag, breath guard, instruction manual and box.  I even have the silicone lubricant for the shield mechanism.  I don't think the clear shield was ever used since we try not to ride at night.  Protective film is still in place.   Also included is an installed Cardo SHO-1 Bluetooth intercom system with upgraded speakers and Cardo instruction manual (on CD).

This is an older helmet, but since the padding in still in great condition, fit and safety should not be compromised.  As you can see in the photos, the fabric is in near-new condition as are the strap covers.  The only 'flaw' is that the rubber edging along the bottom of the helmet has shrunk a little, leaving a couple of gaps (shown in the photos).  If you're not ready to spend $900-plus for an Arai helmet and Cardo intercom, this may be a good option for you.

If you're interested in the helmet without the intercom,  let me know in an offer.  I'd be happy to remove the intercom and accept a lower price.
