With a 9 inch blade it should be marked as a '9' but there is no number on this blade. 
Blade steel extends through the handle. 
Notes on blade are - Seelbach, steel brand cutlery - buy the best  and  C.S. Seelbach, Solingen, Germany,
Some rusting on the steel where it extends through the handle and on the pins visible through the wood handle. 
Handle is smooth.
Blade has hanging hole.
Very solid, well made cleaver that weighs 2 lbs, 12 ounces (1.250 KG)
