A very fine antique 4/4 violin, labeled Petrus Guarnerius Cremonensis fecit Mantuae sub. tit. Sanotae Teresie ae 1695. The instrument is in ready to play condition with tears, wears, some old repaired cracks on top, old good ebony set up, new bridge and new strings. The violin has an excellent high grained spruce of the top and one piece back of softly flamed maple with matched sides, neck and scroll. Rich brown varnish over golden ground shows an amazing wooden choice. The whole length of the violin is 58,7 cm and the back 35,5 cm. The width of the upper bouts: 155 mm; middle bouts: 102 mm; lower bouts: 194 mm. Full size. The sound is very deep, sweet, rich, powerful, suitable for soloist.
