Beautiful Victorian period design English silver photograph frame,
the silver is of the finest quality.

The hallmarks are:

Leopards Head Mark - London Assay Office
Rare Britannia Mark  - Only for finest silver items
999 Numerical Mark  - Highest purity silver 99.9%
Makers Mark:  PVF
Date letter Mark

The silver is very finely embossed (see pics) with the William Morris acanthus design.
The frame has a polished wooden back and pointed strut
enabling portrait or landscape photographs to be displayed,
complete with a genuine moire watered silk lining.
Often little or no regard is given to the quality of the back that supports the silver,
however some makers use cardboard backs covered by velvet
which looks presentable when new, but velvet and silver polish do not mix
and in time the back will perish and look tatty,
soon after the silver will be reduced to its scrap value.

The finest purity unalloyed 999 silver has a depth of colour
not found on lower grade 925 silver items.

Brand new it has never been used so no dings, dents or scratches,
a beautiful quality item.
