A solid well constructed sideboard with a full width internal shelf, two drawers and a smart Herringbone design on the drawers and door fronts.

The original dark waxed finish was disguising the natural wood grain so I decided to expose the bare wood. I removed the wax with a carbide scraper and white spirits. The inside was primed with Zinsser bin to prevent bleed through of the tannins in the wood and then two coats of Fusion Raw Silk was applied to the shelves and inner doors. To tone down the red hue of the Mahogany, I applied a paint wash using Fusion Algonquin. The entire piece was then sealed with two coats of Polyvine Varnish to protect.
