You are looking at a vintage 20" crosscut hand saw made in the USA By Henry Disston. This saw first appeared in the 1928 catalogue of new saws. This is a rare find from a collector's estate. This saw is marked with a big logo right on the face of the blade stating the brand and name of the saw. (This saw was not numbered like the rest of the line.) It was just known as an " American Boy".
The blade is 20" long which is the only size made. It features a skewed back, a broad tip, and 9 points per inch which was the only point count they were produced in. The steel is clean and has a nice patina to it. There are some darkened areas or spots from previous oxidation. The handle is Flemish Oak and has no splits or cracks. It is carved on the face of the grip. It is in very good shape, but does show usage and finish wear. The handle is held tight to the blade with three brass saw nuts, one of which holds the "H. Disston & Sons - PHILADA" medallion. A rare must have for the Disston Collector.
