Vintage watercolor with 8 x 10 inch sight image. Appears to be signed on lower left, but if so it is illegible. Painting is framed in a very nice 3 inch Victorian era frame. Has a label from Snellenburg Department Store in Philadelphia. The store, operated from the early 1860s until 1952. I haven’t examined the painting out of the frame, but it appears to be in very good condition and evidences quality workmanship.

I am not sure if the painting and frame have spent their lives together. I say this because the Snellenburg tag on the reverse is vertical while the painting is horizontal. Also, the nails holding the back in place protrude a little bit and previous owner covered them with masking tape. Neither of these points mean their matching occurred at a later time but I am mentioning this because I questioned it…Neither effects presentation in any manner whatsoever. Displays beautifully.
