I have two gorgeous pictures by French painter, Jean-Pierre Cassigneul, known for his 'serene and captivating paintings of young women dressed in floral attire - often including hats', for sale today.  I am selling them on here separately.

Born in Paris in 1935, Jean-Pierre held his first solo exhibition at the age of 17. He has now exhibited worldwide

These pictures are mounted and framed, in a lovely matte silver frame bringing out the splashes of bright colour along with the pastels; this one depicts an elegant lady leaning out, looking over the sailing boats on the sea, with the 'standard' flower-adorned hat. The photos don't do these pictures justice, but the artist's signature does come out quite clearly. (Please excuse the bad lighting, also, but the recent weather hasn't helped bring light inside!)

Sotheby's write: "Jean-Pierre Cassigneul is best known for his striking compositions of fashionable women in floral hats. Using vibrant color and smoky contour, his paintings evoke both the avant-garde graphic sensibilities of Les Nabis, particularly Pierre Bonnard and Edouard Vuillard, as well as the radical color palette and sensuous portraiture of Kees van Dongen.

Cassigneul was born in 1935 in Paris. He had his first solo exhibition at the age of 17 at Galerie Lucy Krohg. Cassigneul studied at l’École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris and was later instructed by the French painter Roger Chapelain-Midy. In 1958, he had his first exhibition at the Galerie des Beaux-Arts, and the following year he was appointed a member of the Salon d’Automne.

Cassigneul has exhibited widely throughout Europe, Japan and the United States, including shows at the Gallery Tivey Faucon in Paris, Gallery Tamenaga in Japan, and Wally Findlay Gallery in New York. He currently lives and works in Paris."

Here are two of the rarer images out of his wide collection and I think, personally, two of the most awe-inspiring from those that I have seen to date.

Jean-Pierre Cassigneul's paintings fetch prices ranging from several hundred pounds each to thousands of pounds per picture, but I am offering these prints at a low starting bid to clear, and to give everyone the opportunity of owning a piece. (The mounts and frames, alone, are of high value! 😉)

Please do view my other item as I add them, as I am happy to package them together to save on packaging and delivery/postal fees.
