A great opportunity to purchase a custom painted Volantex Vector SR80 - with SR80 Pro drive train - fast electric self righting radio controlled boat which only rarely come on the second hand market
These boats are a superb starter for fast radio control boating - the best in my opinion with a great top speed (claimed at 46 mph although i havent checked), self righting and a strong impact resistant hull. They are a very forgiving and easilly controlled boat and are ideal for learning on but will also provide continued entertainment even for experienced RC boating enthusiasts. I am only selling because i have moved to larger boats and petrol power now and i really have too many RC boats and need to make some space!
This SR80 has been upgraded with SR Pro drive train, including the Pro motor, bigger bore flex shaft (4 mm) and stuffing tube, larger size collet, all metal rudder and strut. Ths standard SR80 has a 3mm flex shaft which is prone to breaking. The SR80 is extremely reliable but parts are readily and quickly available in the UK and are very reasonably priced - they are particularly reasonably priced from AliExpress if you don't mind waiting a bit over a week for delivery. Standard SR80 Pro parts fit this boat without need of changes and easy upgrade paths are also available for more powerful motors and ESC if desired.
The SR80 is 80cm 31.5 inch long and at that length, maintains stability in the wind and choppy water.
The recommended battery is a 14.8 v 4S Lipo or 2 x 2s of around 5000 mAH and 50C which will give a good duration of fast runtime. Some folk run on 6S for a bit more speed although i have stayed with 4S to avoid strain on parts.
The stand, transmitter and receiver and a selection of spares to keep you running are also included in the sale. The boat will be also be supplied with the original box. You will only need the Lipo batteries, a charger for them and the grease required for the shaft which should be applied every five or six runs.
This boat has been really well enjoyed and although it still looks great, it has seen some use so there are marks and knocks which i have tried to capture in the photos but which do not effect the quality of the boat running. Please study the photographs carefully as they are a key part of the description.
