I am a novice level model engine refurbisher. This one i have recently acquired in a group lot. I didn't do anything except lightly clean and inspect it. It has mediocre compression and there is some play in the conrod/crank pin area. This one may run as it is but I would recommend a conrod replacement in the least (there are listings on EBay now), and as the engine gets weaker I would replace the piston/cylinder. The Perry carb has the air filter but will need a new medium put in since the original is deteriorated. Bearings are smooth, mounting lug holes as stock, no broken pieces of casting, head fins, etc... I noticed the head screws are torq style and oversize a little bigger than the typical head screws. Nice engine for refurbish or display in original cars. I haven't seen many of the car heads or the shortened cranks.
