These are actual glass Coming Attraction slides that were used in cinemas during the silent era, and up to in some instances the 1980s, to feature forthcoming films that would play at the neighborhood cinemas.  Other slides would be public service slides, local advertising, or song slides (for sing-a-longs during intermission).  Slides could remain plain and uncolored/tinted, or hand painted, depending on the colorers/artists in the production studio.

NOTE:  These are original and vintage Coming Attraction slides from the Silent and Early Sound era of film.
These are NOT Reproductions.  I have collected and researched these slides and the film history associated with them for over 36 years.  THESE SLIDES ARE GLASS, AND VERY FRAGILE.

These slides are from my personal collection (many that were purchased from film historian Kemp Niver), and are sold one collector to another.  No rights given or implied.  These slides measure 4 inches x 3 1/4 inches approximately.

Some slides, are two glass plates (one the image plate, the other a protective cover plate, with a matte between the two pieces of glass, held together by fillets of gummed tape along the edges).  Later slides, like this one, generally were the same size but only the image glass, inserted into a tri-fold cardboard frame usually secured with staple(s).  These slides were the forerunner of 35mm slides.
These slides in larger cinemas were generally projected with a Brenograph projector from the projection booth.  The slides were hand-tinted/painted, thus in many cases if you were to find another slide like this, no two are alike.

Postage and Handling:

All slides, posters, books, ephemera are shipped in bubble wrap or cardboard, and secure packaging.  I try to reuse tubes and cardboard, bubble wrap at every opportunity to save the environment.

Postage prices are what is determined by eBay, and/or United States Post Office pricing. I do not make up prices.  Postage like everything else has risen in costs over the years.  Also, please note, I try to get my packages out on a timely basis, and provide tracking so you can follow it's progress.  Unfortunately, I have found since the pandemic that services sometimes take longer, so if your package(s) are delayed please do not hold me accountable if said items do not reach you in time for a gift (birthday, Santa Day, anniversary, et cetera) once the item(s) are with the carrier I can do nothing except wait, just like you.

All my packages (posters, photographs, slides, ephemera) are shipped in the USA via PRIORITY MAIL with Insurance included.
If the bid price goes higher then additional insurance is added to the winning bid.  I can mail multiples of the same item (books or photos, posters, slides, but added items may increase the weight adding to postage costs, and will add to the Insurance total.

Rest of the World I will ship via USPS First Class Mail International/First Class Package International Service, and again with Insurance.

I will ship book(s) by Media Mail/Post but keep in mind the service is slower, and books are heavier and move slower, in the cycle.  But, again, all books are shipped with Insurance and Tracking.

Insurance is to protect both the bidder and seller from unfortunate circumstances which can happen beyond the control of you or me.  INSURANCE IS ADDED TO EACH INVOICE, and is a must.

NOTES (regarding insurance):  I will combine like items.  Single or multiple items that fall under $100.00 US, are covered in standard PRIORITY MAIL boxes.  Anything over $100.00 is computed using the USPS calculator to figure the total costs of insurance.  This will be noted on the INVOICE as 'charge'.  And, I will detail same in my Invoice email to you from the eBay site/

*** I do not ship any item without insurance protection.
*** All my packages are shipped with Tracking.
