Highly collectible hard to find handpainted ceramic plate reading, The New Valley Children's Hospital - 1998 for the Central California children's hospital in Madera, California.
The hospital's official name was changed to Children's Hospital Central California in 2002 and their reach spans a 45,000 square mile service area covering most of California's San Joaquin Valley. The hospital is just north of the San Joaquin River.
This is an original piece of artwork from the beginning of the new location in Madera, California in 1998 when the children's hospital moved from Central Fresno to adjacent Madera County. Similar plates were made along the years to commemorate the hospital and are hard to find.
This plate features a drawing of the hospital building, children holding hands in front, signed by the artist, Julianne Thompson from Eclectic Clayworks on the back. Thompson is a Southern California artist. Thompson's whimsical art accurately portrays the whimsy of the building, large, multi-colored, and kid-friendly.
The piece measures 8" in diameter.
