1970s TECHNICS by PANASONIC TURNTABLE MODEL SL-1950 with DUST COVER.

The Technics model SL-1950 was introduced in 1977.

This direct drive automatic record changer featured a one chip IC element density control motor for accuracy and reliability.

It's automatic changer functions include start, tonearm lift off, set down, return as well as record change.

The changer mechanism could accommodate as many as six records at a time.

To this date, this turntable features an easy to service design and remains, after nearly 50 years, one of the best tonearms Technics ever produced.

We've tested this system, and all systems work including the light source within the stroboscope.

When started, the strobe's light came on, the tonearm lifted and moved to the correct position on the disc...there was some hesitation for the tonearm to set down on the vinyl...a tap of the finger and all was fine...perhaps a drop or two of oil may be required...when the record ended, the tonearm lifted and returned as designed...the player automatically shut off as designed.

The dust cover remains in excellent vintage condition...there are no nicks, chips or cracks...there have been no repairs...the hingers open, lock the cover in place as designed and close smoothly...there are some very minor scuffs.

The stylus played the record properly, but you may want to consider upgrading it when it's time to replace.

Overall cosmetic condition is remarkable...very clean unit.
