Enook Manomie (July 24, 1941 - December 2, 2006) came from a long line of famous soap-stone carvers. His pieces have been exhibited in major galleries and museums throughout Canada and the world.

He was commissioned in 1979 by Artisan Prints to design twelve Art Cards that clearly depicted his native Inuit artistry and culture. Although he had been long recognized as one of Canada's foremost stone carvers, these were his first published graphics. They were published by Artisan Prints and were limited in edition.

The cards were individually printed by the hand silk-screen method on parchment paper. They were individually hand assembled and hand inscribed with the artist's name and the title (in English). Finally, the card was sealed with Enook's own original mark of authenticity.
