Rare to the market and at a fraction of the price of others on eBay, a near complete collection of Primus projection post cards for the epidiascope.  Dating to the late 1890s and published by W Butcher and Sons of London, these images were identical to those used on the company's successful Junior Lecture Series of glass magic lantern slides, but were printed onto card in their mirror image for projection using an episcope, epidiascope or simple mirrorscope.  Each card measures 8cm x 14cm, and there are 139 cards in total together with one of the original Primus card-backed folders.  Includes a complete spare set of 'Foolish Bird'.

Condition: A near complete collection with just a few omissions.  All cards have wear, a small number have creases and edge losses.  The photographs have been taken in such a way as to show the worst areas of damage so please study them carefully.  Note that cards 1, 2 & 5 are missing from 'Tiger and Tub', as are cards 11 & 18 from 'Peter Pan' and card 8 from 'British Express Trains'.  The final set, 'Dore Bible', comprises just 8 cards and is likely incomplete.

Overseas buyers are most welcome, import charges may apply.  For similar items please visit my eBay shop and subscribe if you are interested in receiving notifications and offers.  Please be assured that these cards will be carefully packed and will be promptly dispatched.  Many thanks for taking the time to look.
