Beaty painted for more than 30 years in watercolor and, I believe to a lesser extent, in oil. He was a well-known artist and teacher in Merrickville, Ontario and his work included many city scenes, flowers and figures. This image shows a serious, dark haired boy and is called "The Tyke."
