This is an "AUTOMATIC ELECTRIC" magneto wall
telephone (with a dial). If you know anything about old telephones you may wonder how in the world that's going to work on a magneto line.

Well it isn't!! The dial is just sitting there....not connected! 

I might guess that when this phone was installed
the telephone company was planning on changing

the service from magneto to dial in the coming months.

OR someone just placed the dial on the magneto phone to confuse everyone!!!

The small magneto does work ....turn crank, bells ring!

There is a small hook on the right side to hang your 
Telephone Directory on a string. If you ask when you buy the phone, I'll include a small Directory from somewhere in the USA (my choice) to hang on your phone!!!

This Automatic Electric telephone is probably from the 1930's.
