Carlton Ware England Green Cherries Salad Ware Plate

I am pleased to offer for your consideration a delightful Carlton Ware, Stoke-On-Kent, Staffordshire, England Australian Design Green Cherry Salad Ware plate in excellent vintage condition that appears to have been used for display purposes exclusively. This triangular-shaped tableware piece measures approximately 8-3/8" at its highest point and approximately 8-1/4" at its widest. Rich, vibrant coloring on its hand-painted embossed cherries against a pastel green base. Even though all photos have been taken outdoors in natural light, please note that color shades/hues shown in the supersized photo images may vary according to viewing screens, lighting, etc. and may not match exactly in hue/color shade with pieces you may already own. Age-appropriate overall crazing; imperfections from time of original creation (ca. 1930s - 1950s) add to its one-of-a-kind charm and unique personality!

Salad Ware earthenware pottery pieces were expertly modeled and beautifully hand-painted. Today, Salad Ware is divided into  two categories ~ Floral Embossed and Fruit Embossed. (At the Pottery Works, it was all known as Salad Ware primarily because the first of these pieces were the extremely popular Lettuce and Tomato versions which were produced for more than half a century)!
