HAND-TAILORED COTTON DRESS FROM 1938.
I am sure of date. Tailoring seems expert.

Black diagonal stripes on white with subtle red ruffle at neckline and red cuffs on sleeves.
Front zipper.

Vintage item may show some signs of age, storage, wear. There are a couple of very faint discolorations that I only noticed while ironing it. There are no areas of thinning of the fabric or fading.

NB: I decided to handwash the dress and discovered a couple of iron-on round 1" or smaller white patches on the reverse side; these cover tiny holes or snags at the back of the skirt at one side about 6" above the hem. I circled the area of the back in the second-to-last photo and show it in close-up in the final photo.
