I was the trainer, travel secretary and equipment manager for the ABA Kentucky Colonels. When the team folded I stayed on to clean out the offices, locker room, equipement room and souvenir stand. The ABA took down the nets 48 years ago and I still have some of the equipment, uniforms, pictures, programs and many other items.
You are bidding on shoes worn by #2 Walt Simon. Thes BLUE SWADE adidas shoes were worn durning the 1972-73 and 1973-74. These shoe were worn by Walt nearing the end of his career. His career was over after we lost the seventh game of the Championship to the Indiana Pacers.
These shoes DO NOT have SHOESTRINGS...why, I don't know.
The picture in the listing shows Walt wearing this type of team issued shoes. I will send a picture not the one in the listing but another picture I found. This picture has some markings on it because it was used in a game program.
