A Pair of Fine Korean Embroidered Double Crane Official Rank Badges-19^th C. 

Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19^th century, framed with fabric brocade.  

A double crane embroidered with white silk thread on dark blue ground.

Made for a civilian official of first to third rank, the square showing a a pair of white

cranes flying above foaming stylized wave and rock work below clouds,

worked in shades of blue, white, pink yellow, orange, green, purple

and brown on blue silk ground.

It’s in very good condition, mounting with brocade silk, it measures 21cm x 19cm
