BACCHUS / DRINK WINE DOUBLE SIDED PENDANT

For the wine lover.  This double sided pendant shows Bacchus the god of wine and revelry on one side and the quote "Life Is Too Short To Drink Cheap Wine" on the other. The "off center" text is intentional.

In Greek mythology, Bacchus is the god of wine and the inspirer of ritual madness and ecstasy. The frenzy he induces, is called bakkheia. He is the patron deity of agriculture and theater. He was also known as the Liberator (Eleutherios), freeing one from one's normal self, by madness, ecstasy, or wine. The divine mission of Bacchus was to mingle the music of the aulos and to bring an end to care and worry. Scholars have discussed Bacchus' relationship to the "cult of the souls" and his ability to preside over communication between the living and the dead.

In Greek mythology, Bacchus is made to be a son of Zeus and Semele; other versions of the myth contend that he is a son of Zeus and Persephone.  He is described as being womanly or "man-womanish".

This piece measures 1 inch by 1 7/8 inches. You are only bidding on 1 pendant. The photo shows 2 so you can see both sides.

The pendant has a different image on each side. It's two pendants in one. If it ever twists while you're wearing it...it still looks good.

The charm is handmade using a stained glass technique. The images are printed on high cotton content paper and set between 2 thin pieces of glass. It is fused together with a very thin layer of copper which acts as a conductor for a lead free solder combination of silver and tin. The charm is very durable but won't stand up to excessive pulling and tugging. You just have to treat it with care.

The piece comes to you on a 30 inch ball chain and you can keep it long or shorten it to whatever length suits you by snipping it with a pair of scissors. The ball chain just reconnects. You could also wear it on a ribbon or cord and it would be beautiful.
