The Harvesters is an oil on wood painting by Pieter Bruegel dated 1565. The painting is one in a series of six works, five of which are in permanent exhibitions, that depict different times of the year. As in many of his paintings, the focus is on peasants and their work. Notably, some of the peasants are shown eating while others are harvesting, a diachronic (relating to phenomena — ideas/language/culture — as they occur or change over a period of time) depiction of both the production and consumption of food. The painting is currently located in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, located in New York City.

Please remember that colours may vary from what you see on your screen due to different PC and monitor settings and slight variations in fabrics and dyes.  Sizing across some tapestry weaves may vary by up to 10% due to the release of tension and take up after releasing from looms when fully woven.  Woven sizes are not actual finished sizes as approximately a 1" border is generally required to be used when fully lining a tapestry panel.  Product supplied may vary slightly in appearance at edges due to picture cropping.

Pieter Bruegel the Elder (c. 1525 – 9 September 1569) was a Netherlandish Renaissance painter and printmaker known for his landscapes and peasant scenes (Genre Painting). He is nicknamed "Peasant Bruegel" to distinguish him from other members of the Brueghel dynasty, but is also the one generally meant when the context does not make clear which "Bruegel" is being referred to. From 1559 he dropped the 'h' from his name and started signing his paintings as Bruegel.

More commonly famous and well known for his amazingly detailed painting titled "The Tower of Babel" (1563) oil on board.
