Overview - This cable is commonly used to connect 2 devices, one with a 3.5mm jack socket (ipod, laptop) and the second with dual XLR inputs (mixer/speaker system).

Black XLR Connector
XLR Pin 1 - Connected to the sleeve (ground)
XLR Pin 2 - Connected to the ring
XLR Pin 3 - Connected to the sleeve (ground)
This unbalanced cable has the above wiring configuration.
Please note: XLR pin 3 (commonly used to make a balanced connection), is grounded to reduce any hiss/feedback through interference that may be heard, thus ensuring the sound quality is excellent.
