Prison for Women

At Hadesgate Prison, the head wardeness and the captain of the guards argue about their differences of opinion. An undercover state agent investigates allegations. Women get into fights.

Fortunately, they all wear stockings and exotic footwear with tall, slender heels. Mr. Bilbrew's willowy damsels have wonderful curves delieated with thin, graceful lines. The 30-episode comic story is told through the images and the descriptions at the top of each panel.

The horizontal orientation of most this comic's panels make it ideal for ebook optimization. The ebook optimizes the lovely ink illustrations by maximizing available space on the monitor screen with wide ebook pages. Many panels are repeated without the narrative text at the top to allow enlargement of the characters on the page.



The Contessa's Revenge

An industrial draftsman, Jim's fluid lines depict flawless females in corsets, stockings and extremely high-heeled footwear, including pumps, sandals, mules, and assorted exotic boots. The palatial setting is allegedly 17th century France and Jim reveals his European background by staging a conflict among royalty. A master of line, Jim's depiction of imperious femmes present regal arrogance from tiara to toe.

Most of the 20 episodes consist of two or three panels. For this comic, a block of narrative text occupies the first page of each episode. Most of the panels are vertical and optimization consists of placing an un-edited panel at the right end of the page with enlargements of characters and other details positioned to the left or on subsequent pages. In other words, the ebook uses the illustrations to maximum advantage.


Captives of the Scientists

In 16 episodes, Mary Lou delivers a first-person account of her stressful experiences with a clique of physicians. After a difficult ordeal, she and her friend Jane turn the tables on Dr. Snow and Dr. Rain. 

Mario does a good job of inking pictures of shapely women in stockings, heels and tight-fitting leather garments. Many of his characters wear ballet-toe boots. Here, he is more of an illustrator than comic artist, and his care with details discloses professional competence. His fetish divas show the smiles and hair styles of movie actresses of the fifties.

For this comic, a block of narrative text occupies the first wide ebook page of each episode. The panels are various shapes and proportions. Optimization consists of placing an un-edited panel at the right end of the page with enlargements of characters and other details positioned to the left or on subsequent pages.

PROCESS

Pages were scanned at 600 dpi and the resolution subsequently reduced to 155 dpi. I adjusted the tonality of the
illustrations slightly.

The scans were assembled as a book in a publishing program. Then, the file was exported to Acrobat .pdf format. Acrobat files are opened in Acrobat Reader, available without charge for both PC and MAC platforms at adobe.com. You can run an image viewer or video program at the same time you flip through the pages of an ebook in Acrobat Reader. Reader allows zooming and rotation. If you prefer paper pages to desktop images, Acrobat allows you to print .pdf pages.

DELIVERY
Delivery of the CD is by mail. When multiple ebooks are purchased, all ebooks will be sent on a single CD  or DVD, ready for viewing on your PC or MAC.
