1. Do you have to start at volume 1 - No, each volume is it's own lessons/drills.
2. Is the DVD different from the book version - They are different but the same, they compliment each other. The books have exact diagrams to help you set-up the drills and how to shoot them, hitting the cue ball. The DVD lets you see the actual shot, the speed, ball path and is narrated with added instructions.
