There are two types of voltage in voltage transformers. Modified and true sine wave voltage. The difference is that with the modified sine wave, the shape of the output voltage is reproduced in a staircase shape. Voltage converters with modified sine waves are more cost-effective and can be used for many consumer devices without any problems. However, there are exceptions that absolutely require a converter with a true sine voltage.
With television sets, for example, banding can occur in the image when used with a modified sine-wave voltage converter. Coffee pad machines also need a converter with real sine voltage.

As a rough guideline, the minimum battery capacity in Ah should be approx. 10% of the continuous power of the voltage converter at 12V (e.g. voltage converter with 1000/2000W = 100Ah) or at 24V approx. 5%.
