COMMON USES:

Vitamin E Natural (50% mixed Tocopherol) is an anti-oxidant that assists in maintaining cell integrity.  It is easily obtained from several sources, such as; Sunflower, Safflower, Canola, Olive oils; and also from many grains, nuts and fruits.

Vitamin E is one of the most studied vitamins in the world because of its anti-oxidant, restorative properties.  It does wonders for heart health but it is best known for safeguarding the skin.  The skin is the largest organ of the body, protecting internal organs and helping the body rid itself of waste through sweating.

For use in cosmetics, Vitamin E is a natural preservative that helps sustain shelf life of products.

Vitamin E plays a crucial role in protecting skin cells and membranes from environmental damage.  This protection extends to stopping damage to the skin from UV rages, pollutants and ageing.  It provides deep moisturisation for the skin whilst allowing the skin to breathe and to function naturally, which helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Using an internal capsule supplement of Vitamin E can help the skin from the inside out.  However, using lotions and creams with Vitamin E is most beneficial for skin.  As explained earlier, the protective benefits of an application of the oil are many and include:

  • Slowing down the signs of skin ageing.
  • Providing a protective layer of anti-oxidants which combat free radicals from such sources as ultraviolet light and pollution.
  • Helping prevent skin cancer.
  • Reducing the look of age spots and other discolorations.
  • Diminishing the appearance of stretch marks.
  • Softening skin scar tissue to assist in the repair.

Vitamin E promotes new skin cell growth which is why direct application onto fresh scars from an accident, surgery or even acne, is most healing.  Fine lines and wrinkled skin benefit from the anti-oxidant properties of this wonder vitamin.  Coarse, dry or peeling skin can soften and heal with applications of Vitamin E.  Rough cuticles and chapped lips also heal with help from Vitamin E.

For sunburn, mix some Aloe Vera Gel with Vitamin E and apply to sunburn areas to sooth the burn, as well as heal it.

Vitamin E with its anti-oxidant healing properties is definitely one ingredient that should be included in a skin care regiment.  As old skin sheds and new skin growth emerges, a healthier “glow” will be readily apparent!!!
