Entirely original, genuine and authentic.

This token entitled the bearer to use the private roads of King George II in London, including what is now Kings Road Chelsea.  It was a pass shown to the gatekeepers.

The initials RA, in the middle of the date 1731, are those of Richard Arundell of Yorkshire, second son of Baron Arundell.  Among several significant offices, he was appointed Surveyor of the King's private roads in 1731 and Master of the (Royal) Mint in 1737.

Copper or bronze with high copper content.  1¼" diameter, 14 grams.
