   Sigismunds Vidbergs (1890 - 1970) was a Latvian graphic artist and painter. 
He was the "Riga Artists' Group member, workshop" Baltars "artist. Exhibitions already begun
to participate in the school years in Riga, as well as in Petrograd in 1913, 1914, 1915, 1916. Being in Petrograd, 
he influenced by Russian magazine "Mir iskusstva" and "Satirikon" group as a whole, but especially of the 
Russian graphic artist S. Čehoņin. The early stages of the artist's creative life felt a strong English OBRI 
Bīrdslija graphic artist (1872-1898) impact. Returning Latvian, organising its first post-war solo Latvian Telegraph Agency 
art salon, which was in Riga, Barona 4, 1925 at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris, won the gold medal 
for the workshop "Baltars" crockery paintings. In 1926 he came out book "Erotica" with 24 pictures provided an overview 
of the artist's creative work from 1917. His second major solo exhibition with 145 works of Sigismund Vidbergs arrange 
Romanovska art salon in 1926. Celebrating 20 years of operation of the schedule, in 1928 organized a jubilee personal 
exhibitions in Riga and Jelgava. Exile, the result of the post-war Esslingen best known work cycle "pain pathway." 
He worked at the book and applied graphics, signs a book and magazine covers, illustrations, organization and publishing 
house signs, chapter headings, bookmarks, vignette, membership cards, postage stamps, addresses, posters. It created 
the scenery of Ludwig Minkus's ballet "Don Quixote" and costumes L.Minkusa ballet "Don Quixote" and Adol Charles Adam's 
ballet "Giselle".
