The History

This beautiful piece comes from the Art Deco Era! The Art Deco Era is famous for being the "Gatsby" or "Roaring Twenties" Era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period.

During the Art Deco Period jewelers often made jewelry upon custom order, this would often take weeks to months to completely craft by hand.

Bakelite is the first plastic made from synthetic components, and was developed by chemist Leo Baekeland in 1907. It was used to make a diverse range of products in a variety of jewel quality colors, and the retro appeal has made Bakelite jewelry quite valuable as a collectible item.
