Sundown Park is a British jazz group, featuring Mickey Simmonds (keyboards), Andy Hamilton (sax), Gary Barnicle (sax & flute), Sid Gould (trumpet), Jamie Moses (guitar), Mickey Moody (guitar), Morgan Charles & Peter May (drums), and vocalists Charlie Doidge, Paul Williams, & Marcus Shelton.

This new CD is uniquely packaged in a cardboard sleeve, made to look as if it for an amusement park (that exists only in your mind), and includes a separate ticket book that lists the song details on individual "tickets," as if each song was a carnival ride! (And if you close your eyes and listen to the music, they kind of are.....)

      Sundown Park is a pretty good jazz band - can't say anything bad about them. But I'm knocked out by singer Charlie Doidge, and I'd like to hear a full album of her songs. She sings in a relaxed, measured style, but she's no whispy mouse. She sings with strength, clarity, and confidence. It's hypnotic. In fact, her version of Sting's "Shape of My Heart" followed in the album by the instrumental "Acid Coffee" absolutely carries me away to fantasyland. (Customer review)
