A stunning antique Edwardian necklace with a fabulous diamond and emerald paste heart in the centre. The diamond and emerald paste stones are wonderfully sparkly and completely mesmerising whenever they catch the light! The 'emerald' is in an open back setting, and is often the case when set in this way, a little of the gold foil is worn on the reverse. This isn't even noticeable when wearing and doesn't in any way detract from its immense charm. Apart from this very minor imperfection, it is in Wonderful Condition.
The necklace is on a very fine chain, which is either rolled gold, or gilt - this is lovely and shiny even now. The necklace fastens with a sterling silver tube clasp. This isn't stamped but is not unusual for a piece of this age and has been tested as sterling. It closes with a reassuring click.
