Here's another rare offering off-round Sea of Cortez pearl from our most recent purchase from Perlas del Mar de Cortez pearl farm.  This particular pearl has silver-gray basic skin color and subtle lavender-gray and green overglows, with other shades showing in different lighting conditions and angles.  It has some slight natural imperfections, as shown in the photos, such as slight surface variations, with a little bum-out at one end, as shown in the photos.  Sea of Cortez pearls are among the most rare pearls in the world, cultured in the Gulf of California, Mexico, between Baja California and the Mexican mainland, in Guyamas, Sonora.  Fewer than 4 thousand pearls total are harvested every year, so they are both rare and expensive.  They are also among the few Fair Trade pearls available.

This incredible pearl is baroque roundish.  The color has different appearances in different lighting conditions, hard to totally capture in photos, though these photos come close to the way it looks to me in person (as shown in the photos, the colors shift a bit in different angles and conditions).  

Please note that most natural color real cultured pearls look different in various lighting conditions, although I try to present the most accurate photos.  These photos were taken in natural daylight.

This pearl measures approximately 9 mm in diameter (depending on where it's measured) and 9.2 mm long, hole to hole.  All measurements are approximate.  Please note that this pearl has been fully drilled.
