Originally issued in illustrated wrappers, this copy has been rebound (with the illustrated wrappers intact) in a custom one-half navy blue calf leather binding over marbled paper covered boards. Matching marbled paper endpapers. The custom leather binding is somewhat rubbed and worn, particularly along the edges. Overall, this is an amazing edition of this classic work, preserving the original and fragile wrappers in a handsome custom binding and showcasing the wonderful tipped-in illustrations. Please see photos for additional condition and edition clarity.
