Rustins Quick Dry Red Oxide Metal Primer is a low odour high performance paint containing anti-corrosive additives for use on both bare and galvanised metal that is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Formulated with special micronised red oxide, to prevent corrosion.

Sizes: 250ml, 500ml, 1 Litre, 2.5 Litre and 5 Litre

Coverage: 12-15m² per litre per coat, depending on the absorbency of the surface

Usage Instructions: 

Preparation:The surface must be clean, smooth, sound, dry, free from wax, dust and contaminates. The bare metal should also be free from rust. Existing rust may be removed with Rustin’s Rust Remover. Application: Use a good quality brush and apply evenly. Coats: 1 coat is usually sufficient. A second coat may be applied if required. Sand lightly between coats if required. Drying Time: 4-8 hours depending on temperature and humidity. Re-coating Time : 4-8 hours. Application Temp: Ideally 15-25°C. Do not use below 10°C, or in conditions of high humidity. Maintenance: The surface may be cleaned with a mild detergent solution or White Spirit as necessary. Worn areas may be re-coated once cleaned and lightly sanded to provide a key. Compatibility: Must be over painted with an undercoat before application of top coat.
