12 july 89 BFPS 2196 The Royal Tournament Earls Court 12 to 29 july 1989.. Cover depicts RAF Harrier, RAF Flag, London Skyline  & Joint Services Logo . The first Royal Tournament A Military Tournament and Assault at Arms was held in the Agricultural Hall Islington, on 21 to 26 June 1880. In 1883 Queen Victoria initiated Royal patronage ,in 1907 the first Royal Navy Field Gun Competition took place, in 1906 the venue was changed to Earls Court & after World War 1 the RAF participated . Flown in 1 Sqn Harrier, G5  ZD 404 of No 1 ( Fighter) Squadron from RAF Wittering in a Demonstration formation making the introduction into the service of the Harrier GR5.
