Ref# 00853: 2007 Larrivee 40th Anniversary L-09 Commemorative with Original Hardshell Case. This Larrivee L-09 was made exclusively for Sam Ash to commemorate Jean Larrivee 40th anniversary of guitar building. Larrivee's signature L body style is very similar to a J series Gibson. An extremely rare piece as there were only around 60 of them made. Premium Indian Rosewood back and sides, with a one-piece Mahogany Neck, Canadian Sitka Spruce top, bound Ebony fingerboard, and double bound Maple binding on the back and sides. JCL Celtic style Abalone headstock logo, and Abalone inlay Larrivee signature at the 12th fret. Beautifully set Abalone marquetry rosette around the soundhole. Tortoise pickguard, Larrivee signature black tip tuners, and matching black string pegs. 6150 "Jumbo" frets are in great shape. Nut width measures 1.750" and 2.15" at the 12th fret with a 12" radius. Overall condition is "minty" with the only a few picking marks on the guard. The top, back, sides, and headstock are extremely clean and its evident the guitar was rarely played, and always stored in it's case. Playability is effortless and the action is set just right. The tone from this instrument has that coveted ability to resonate through your chest as you play and with such great balance and clarity. A true joy to have in the shop.
