You are bidding on a silver 1 Denarius coin from the Roman Republic that was minted in 43 B.C. by the minter Petillius Capitolinus. The obverse design of the coin features an image of an eagle with spread wings perched on a thunderbolt and looking to the right with the legend "PETILLIVS CAPITOLINVS" above and below the image and the reverse design of the coin features an image of the Capitoline temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus represented as a richly decorated hexastyle edifice with the letters "S" and"F" to the left and right of the image. This coin was minted at the Rome mint. This coin is listed as S#486 in Sear's Roman Coins And Their Values Volume I. The coin is in Very Fine condition and has been certified and graded by NGC with a grade of MS with a Sub-Heading of Strike:4/5 & Surface:3/5. It is also listed by NGC as having a bankers mark although it is not obvious. It was purchased by me from Heritage Auctions in September 2015 for $129.50. This coin looks very nice as you can see from the posted photos but please look at the posted photos and make your own determination as to the overall grade and appearance of this coin. This is a nice certified ancient Roman silver coin that will make a good addition to any collection.
