Now everyone we think has heard of Royal Worcester, probably one of the most well known British Porcelain and china manufacturers in the world, so we wont ramble on about them.
What sort of pot? you ask, well, some say its a toothpick pot, some say its a cigarette pot (really?), some say its a hair pin pot, some say its a hatpin pot! If we are being truly honest we really dont know, but we think it would make a beautiful little posy pot to sit on the bedroom window sill with buttercups and daises picked from the lawn before grandad cuts it by the grandchildren for grandma!
These also make beautiful business card holders to sit on your desk and hand out to visitors and potential customers. They are also handy for false teeth in the bathroom overnight or even a lovely sewing pot to sit on the mantle with some needles, thread, and thimble.
We have tried to do a bit of research to date this lovely little pot as although it clearly bears the easily recognisable Royal Worcester mark there is no dating marks which we thought strange. However, we have found out that during two periods 1942 - 1948 & 1966 - 1974 Royal Worcester did not put any dating marks on their items, so we are led to believe. We have another one of these very similar with a slightly less clean and clear makers mark and without the R for registered company so we deduce that this is probably one from the 66 - 74 period. But please dont hold us to this as we are by no means experts!
