This is a large  original  American Empire mirror or looking glass, Ca. 1830-1940 that would normally have been hung above a Pier or other table in an entry hall  or parlor of a large Greek Revival home. It has rare original very heavy and thick glass, hand silvered with visible brush strokes. I have not seen Gone With the Wind for 30 years, but assume there was one like this at Tara. If hung over a 36 inch table, it would almost touch s 9 foot ceiling. This is suitable if creating a Civil War antebellum , Key West or 1830-1850 large mansion museum. Every Greek revival home had a similar piece in the front hall or parlor, with a mirror above it. Key West home have this style, as it came from ships wrecked on the reefs in  the 19th century. This needs restoration; the heavy glass has separated from the wood frame; so needs a good carpenter or cabinet maker to bring it back to its former glory.
