Facing Flak and Looking Back” is a 72 paged, A5 sized, card covered booklet, with covers printed in full colour. It reprints twelve essays on various aspects of the Biggles books and other facets of the writings of W.E. Johns.

Most of these essays originally appeared in the hobby magazine ‘Biggles Flies Again Magazine’. They are all written by Norman Wright, an acknowledged expert on the Biggles books and publisher of the Limited Edition series of Biggles books.

Facing Flak and Looking Back” was published at the end of 2018 as an edition of just 60 copies.

The essays are on the following books and subjects:

Biggles Sweeps the Desert, Biggles Buries a Hatchet, Biggles in the Orient, Biggles on the Home Front, Biggles Delivers the Goods, Biggles Sees it Through, Sergeant Bigglesworth C.I.D., Biggles’ Second Case, Biggles Looks Back. The (Biggles) Play that Nearly Was, Champion of the Main, Modern Boy’s Book of Pirates, Wings Over the Western Front.

The first collection of Norman Wright’s essays reprinted from ‘Biggles Flies Again Magazine’, entitled ‘Camels Condors and Worldwide Wanderings’, has sold out. There are just a few copies left of the second collection, entitled “Fighting, Fun and Flights of Fancy”.
