Detecting THC use in Saliva

Cannabis use is notoriously difficult to detect in saliva, with most saliva drug tests looking for the presence of the THC metabolite which has proven to be extremely unreliable. How do drugs get into the saliva?

The salivary glands are only separated from the surrounding blood vessels by a thin skin. Active ingredients such as drugs and medicines penetrate this membrane and pass from the blood into the saliva. For this reason, test results in blood and saliva are very similar. This is why the 5 panel saliva drug test is very effective.

What are the differences between the s5 panel saliva drug test and urine tests?

The saliva test is, in contrast to the blood test, non-invasive and therefore easy to perform everywhere.

The results for drugs such as cocaine, opiates, amphetamines and methamphetamines are almost identical to the results of blood analyzes as the transition from blood to saliva is very successful. Although THC enters the saliva to a lesser extent, as THC accumulates in the oral cavity during smoking, so it also provides reliable evidence.

Description:

Bring the pouch to room temperature (59°-86°F) (15°-30°C). Remove the test from the foil pouch.
Remove cap. Insert absorbent end into the urine. Do not let the urine touch the plastic device. Leave in urine until the control line appears. Replace the cap back onto the absorbent end and lay the device on a flat surface. Read the results at 5 minutes, but do not interpret after 10 minutes.
Results
Negative: Two lines will appear, one next to the “C” and one next to the “T”.
Positive: Only one line appears next to the “C” and no line next to the “T”.
Invalid: No lines will appear next to the “C” or the “T”

Note: The shade of the “T” line may vary. But should but considered negative whenever there is even a faint line.
**This test (assay) provides only a preliminary qualitative test result. Use a certified laboratory to confirm your results via gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GCMS).



POSITVE:

One line appears next to the control “C” and no line appears next to the test “T” region.

NEGATIVE:

Two lines will appear, one next to the “C” and one next to the “T”.

INVALID:

No lines will appear next to the control “C” region or the test “T” region, or, no line will appear next to the control “C” region and 1 line next to the test “T”.


NEGATIVE Result FAQ’s:

The presence of any color on the test “t” line indicates a negative test. The intensity or color of the line has no bearing on the results. If a line is present, the result is negative (clean).
