A great gift for the hiker. Prints in this set are taken from my original gouache-watercolor paintings and are reduced in price from the individual prints.  The world's most famous geyser, Old Faithful is a cone geyser located in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. Old Faithful can vary in height from 100-180 feet.  It has been estimated that the amount of water it emits ranges from 3,700 gallons to 8,400 gallons.

Travertine Terraces are formed from limestone, as thermal water rises through it, carrying high amounts of the dissolved calcium carbonate. At the surface, calcium carbonate is deposited, forming travertine, the chalky white mineral forming terrace. Due to the rapid depositing, these features constantly and quickly change.

Hot springs are the most common hydro-thermal features in Yellowstone park. Their plumbing has no constrictions. Super-heated water cools as it reaches the surface, sinks, and is replaced by hotter water from below. This circulation, called convection, prevents water from reaching the temperature needed to set off an eruption. Many hot springs give rise to streams of heated water.  The deep blue color of the water in the center of the pool results from the intrinsic blue color of water. The effect is strongest in the center of the spring, because of its sterility and depth.

Prints are 5" x 7", 8" x 10", or 11 in. x 14 in., signed, and mail in a rigid photo mailer.  All prints include a white border approximately ½ in. to allow for framing.  Mats and frames are not included with the regular 5 x 7, 8 x 10, and 11 x 14-inch prints.  Printed on 110 lb. Matte White Stock. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.

Thanks, Lee
